HUA TEA

an offering of floral tisanes

Hua is the phonetic word for “flower” in Chinese. Hua Tea draws on the many flowers used in traditional Chinese remedies.

Three Chrysanthemums is a blend of unopened buds, opened buds, and full blooms of Hangzhou Chrysanthemum. Combining the flowers at different stages creates a more rounded experience of the Chrysanthemum, with a tea of a golden hue. Chrysanthemums have a long history in Chinese medicine; with their anti-inflammatory properties and rich in Vitamin A, they are used to cool the body and brighten the eye.

Golden Bouquet is a blend of Kunlun Chrysanthemum, Osmanthus, and Honeysuckle. These fragrant flowers create a deep golden-red tea. Kunlun Chrysanthemum, also called snow daisy, is grown at high elevations and is full of amino acids and antioxidants. Osmanthus is richly fragrant, used to improve the skin and support the lungs. Honeysuckle is soothing and has been used to fight fevers, ulcers, sore throats and infections.

How to prepare tea for best results: Use 1 tablespoon tea per 8 oz cup. Heat water to boiling. Flush tea with hot water and immediately discard the water. Fill again with hot water and let steep for 3-4 minutes. Add honey if desired for sweetness. As these blends use only flowers, they have no caffeine and may be taken at any time of the day.

Enjoy!
